Bath Time

Rub a dub-dub. We aren't sure if Dakota likes baths yet or not. Sometimes he cries and sometimes he doesn't. This bath was on 8/8 and he didn't cry at all, except for at the end when I took him out and he got cold. Dakota HATES being cold-he gets that from his mama.
Just out of the tub! His hair curls!!!

All dressed and nice and toasty warm after a great bath!

Thieves!

Hi there,
Just want to encourage you all to keep your vehicles, garages and homes LOCKED up tight.
We discovered yesterday evening that of 1 our cars had been "went through" and items were taken/stolen.
Yesterday afternoon as I left to take Dakota to a doctor appt, I saw that my driver side door was ajar and when I got into the car I saw that the items from the glove box and center counsel thingy were all over. I assumed that either Andrew or Emily needed something in a hurry and planned to ask them to pick up the mess later that evening.
By the time I got home from the doctor's office, Emily was on her way to work so I didn't get to ask her about it until she got home about 10pm, and I asked Andrew shortly after he got home.....Anyway it turns out neither of them got into my car....so then we started looking and realized someone must have gotten into it and also realized that things were taken.
We are big time door/car lockers and are shocked this happened, but then I remembered my lock-remote was not working good Tuesday when I took Dakota to the doctors...so we assume that I thought I locked my car Monday evening but the remote battery really was not working then and I didn't notice, as I was on my way in with Dakota and a few bags from Target.
We had an officer come out last night and he said that on Tuesday they started receiving calls at 5:30am thru the rest of the day from people in our area noticing that their cars and garages had been went through....he said all were unlocked. (In our case our other car, garage and home were locked and none of them were touched.) The officer also mentioned that an unlocked garage on our street was went through.
Please don't be an easy victim, lock up your possessions every day/evening.
It feels horrible to know someone was going through our car. I can't imagine how it would feel to know they were going through my garage and scary to think, the next step is/could easily be people's homes that they are going through.
Anyway we just want to warn you, as Midland is a super safe city and has very low crime, but things do still happen in "safe" cities, etc.
Be safe!

8 Weeks Old

Hi there,
Above are some recent photos of Dakota.
The one with daddy is on 8/1-aren't they cute?!?! The one with Aunt Emmy is from 8/4-fun! The 2 with mom are on 8/5, and the one of just him is from today-SOOOO Cute!!!

Dakota turned 8 weeks old on 8/5, I seriously cannot believe how time is flying. He's growing up so fast! I must say I am shocked at how much time it takes to care for a baby...and he is a pretty great baby, but I barely get much else done each day. Oh well, he is totally my priority!!!

Here is a little update on our terrific son!
He is STILL getting up every 3 hours at night...it's tough being his exhausted mama, but there is nothing I enjoy more than being with my son, I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks-he is amazing!! He does like to sleep in til 10 or 11am....woot-woot, I love that. I think it is cool that our baby likes to sleep in...he is definitely a Banks.

He now weighs 11 pounds and 7 ounces...growing like a weed!
Dakota is completely adorable and seriously gets cuter and cuter by the day...we can barely believe it. :) Not that we are biased at all...tee-hee. But honestly people stop me everywhere I go to tell me how cute he is, and not people I know either, just random people...I cannot go anywhere w/o people stopping me to compliment me on my darling boy! As you can tell that makes my day!

Dakota has been "talking" a lot lately, especially to his daddy! It is super precious and his daddy just beams with pride when they have their little chats!! Dakota has a very manly voice...oh, so precious!!
Dakota loves when we sing to him, dance while holding him, and cuddle him-he is a lovey, sweet boy.
His favorite toy is a blue puppy that plays a guitar. We push a button and it plays the most high pitch little tune you've ever heard, but he loves it.

I am going back to work in early September and I am just dreading it. I have already cried several times as I do NOT want to leave my boy, I enjoy him so much. I know his babysitter is terrific and I am absolutely confident in her care of him...it's just that I want to be the one to raise him and care for him. Please pray for us and that transition.
Thanks for checking in.
